In this podcast, they talk about how parents should listen to and understand their teenage children and how to deal with their behavior in their adolescent period to reduce parent and teen conflict. While discussing the proper conversation with an adolescent, Dina and Elisabeth roleplay a common scenario amongst teenagers and how to manage the situation using the principles discussed.

On this episode of Raising Parents: The Parenting Science Insights Podcast, host Dina Sargeant is joined by Dr. Janice Johnson Dias who brings us expert knowledge about the impact of positive discipline on children’s development. Dr. Janice holds a Ph.D. in Sociology from Temple University with a specialization in urban and political sociology. Her funded research focuses on mothers and children and has been published in top-ranking policy and social science journals. She is a tenured associate professor of sociology at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, and president of the GrassROOTS Community Foundation.
